আমিনুল হক সাদীঃ সিত্রাং ঘুর্ণিঝড়ের দাপটে ধ্বসে পড়লো কিশোরগঞ্জ বটতলার ২০০ বছরের বটগাছটি। বটগাছটি ধ্বসে পড়ায় এখন স্থানীয়সহ পথচারী আক্ষেপ প্রকাশ করছেন। সোমবার রাত আনুমানিক ১ টারদিকে গাছটি ধ্বসে পড়ে বলে স্থানীয়ারা জানায়।
সকাল হতেই ধ্বসে পড়াগাছটি দেখতে বটতলা মোড়ে জনতা ভীড় করছেন। কেউ বাআবার বটগাছটিকে ঘীড়ে স্মৃতিচারণ করছেন।
কিশোরগঞ্জ জেনারেল হাসপাতালের নিকটে ইবটতলা মোড়। ধ্বসে পড়াবটগাছটির নামেই এ মোড়কে বলা হয় বটতলার মোড়। ঝড়ের সময় গাছটি গোড়া উপড়ে নদীর দিকে একটি পুলিশ বক্সের উপর পড়ে। বক্সটির ভেতরে থাকা সিলিংফ্যান, টেবিল সহকিছ ুআসবাবপত্র ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হলেও কোন প্রাণহানির ঘটনা ঘটেনি। তবেগাছটির পাশে পানিরফোয়ারা নির্মাণের সময় শিকরকাটার ফলে বটগাছটি ধ্বসে পড়েছে বলে অনেকেই অভিযোগতুলেছেন। শতবর্ষী বটগাছটিকে ঘীরে কত জনের রয়েছে কত স্মৃতি। তাই বটতলা নামটি অক্ষুণœ রাখতে একই জায়গায় যেনো আরেকটি বটের চারা রোপনের দাবী তুলছেন সাধারণ জনগণ ।
