রাখী দ্রং দুর্গাপুর,প্রতিনিধিঃ টানা ভারি বর্ষণ ও উজান থেকে নেমে আসা পাহাড়ি ঢলে দুর্গাপুরের সোমেশ্বরী নদীর তীরে ভাঙন দেখা দিয়েছে। এতে করে উপজেলার সীমান্তবর্তী দুর্গাপুর ইউনিয়নের উওর ফারংপারা ও ভবানীপুর গ্রামের বেশকিছু অংশ ভেঙে গেছে।
মঙ্গলবার সরেজমিনে গিয়ে দেখা যায়,নদীর ভাঙ্গনে বিলিন হতে চলেছে দুই গ্রামের চলাচলের একমাত্র রাস্তা। এতে নদীর তীরের দুই গ্রামের মানুষ আতঙ্কের মধ্যে আছেন। হুমকির মুখে রয়েছে ফসলি জমি, বসতভিটা ও শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান। ভাঙ্গন রোধে দ্রুত কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ নেয়া না হলে পরিস্থিতি আরো ভয়াবহ রূপ নিতে পারে বলে জানিয়েছে স্থানীয়রা। বর্তমানে ভাঙ্গনের আতঙ্কে সেখানকার শত শত পরিবার। ভাঙ্গন রোধে দ্রুত ওই এলাকায় স্থায়ী বেরিবাঁধ নির্মাণের দাবি জানিয়েছেন স্থানীয়রা।
শিক্ষার্থী দিবস সাহা জানান, উত্তর ফারংপাড়া থেকে ভবানীপুর এলাকার রাস্তায় যেভাবে নদী ভাংঙ্গন শুরু হয়েছে তা অব্যাহত থাকলে রাস্তা নদীগর্ভে চলে যাবে।এতে করে ওই গ্রামের শিক্ষার্থীদের যাতায়াত ব্যবস্থা নাজুক হয়ে পড়বে। তাই ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্তৃপক্ষের নিকট স্থায়ী বেড়িবাঁধ নির্মাণের আবেদন জানাই।
